Adopting Children from the Philippines
The adoption of children from another country follows procedures established by the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in respect of Inter-Country Adoption. Signatories to this Convention, which include the Philippines and Australia, enforce these procedures.
Persons in Australia who are interested to adopt a child or children from the Philippines can acquire information and appropriate forms from the Central Authority on inter-country adoption of Australia, an ICAB-accredited foreign adoption agency in Australia, or a State and Territory Authority on inter-country adoption. Interested parties should contact any of these Australian agencies to be advised of the appropriate procedure.
