Newly-Opened Restaurant Promotes Philippine Cuisine in Sydney’s Central Business District

17 May 2013 - Mr. Rey San Juan and his wife, Ms. Raquel San Juan, who own and manage LaMesa Restaurant, invited the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney to the much-awaited opening of the restaurant on April 16.

VOTERS WHO HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THEIR BALLOTS CAN VOTE
In order not to disenfranchise voters who have yet to receive their ballots, the COMELEC Committee on Overseas Voting issued Guideline No. 2013-06 on 2 May 2013 which allow said voters to vote provided that: - The voter personally appears at the Post where he is registered,
- The voter's name is listed in the Certified List of Voters, or in the list of voters who failed to vote in two successive elections, and
- His identity is properly established, i.e, identification such as passport or driver's license is required.

Phl Consulate General in Sydney Receives First Ballot from Re-Enfranchised Voter

25 April 2013 - Seven days after the start of the overseas voting period, the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney welcomed the first re-enfranchised voter on April 19, to cast his ballot, Mr. Romeo Cayabyab, an award-winning media practitioner.

PHL Consulate General Joins Filipino Press Forum in Sydney

11 April 2013 – The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney participated in a Media Forum organized by The Filipino Press Group of Sydney at the Dooleys Club in Regents Park on March 23.
An annual event initiated by Filipino community radio stations Radio Kawayan, Radio Sandigan, and Radio Dalisay, the Forum entitled “Adhika” aims to raise awareness of the presence of Filipino print, online, and radio media practitioners and of their contributions to the Filipino community as well as to the larger community in New South Wales (NSW).

CLARIFICATION ON USE OF THE PAPER SEAL (OVF No. 12)
10 April 2013 – The ballot envelopes mailed directly by the COMELEC-Manila to registered overseas voters who will participate in the 13 May 2013 elections contain the following:
1. Official Ballot,
2. Paper seal (OVF No. 12),
3. Official Ballot Envelope,
4. Official List of Candidates, and
5. Instructions to Voters.
The ballot envelope contains only one paper seal (OVF No. 12), which should be used to seal the accomplished ballot.
The accomplished ballot is then placed inside the ballot envelope. The envelope will not be sealed with a paper seal.

Philippine Consulate in Sydney Sets Up Information Booth in Filipino Fiesta

26 March 2013 - The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney participated in the 16th Filipino-Australian Fiesta organized by the Central Coast Ugnay Kabayan, led by its President, Robert Anderson, at the Sports Grounds of the Mingara Recreation Club in Tumbi Umbi, 95 kilometers away from Sydney on March 16.
