DONATION FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY CYCLONE "FRANK"

8 July 2008 – The Philippine Consulate General Sydney would like to inform that Banag-Banag Inc., the association of Visayan-speakers of New South Wales, is spearheading a campaign to assist individuals and families affected by Cyclone Frank in the Visayas region. Banag-Banag, Inc., an affiliate of the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales over the past 14 years and actively involved in various social and charitable works both in Sydney and in the Philippines.

The typhoon brought destruction and death to our kababayans in many provinces in the Visayas region, including those who are presumed dead due to the sinking of the inter-island vessel “Princess of the Stars” of Sulpicio Lines.

Banag-Banag will act as the focal point of all the donations and contributions for relief and will be responsible in transmitting them to concerned sectors which will directly assist the affected families.

Banag-Banag will also account the donations received from various sources and document them for transparency purposes. The Organization will be accountable to the Philippine Consulate General Sydney and the Filipino Australian community.

Interested parties and donors may contact Banag-Banag through the following:
